How long have you been working professionally?

One year.

What has been your favorite photographic assignment or project to date?

Chinese Tourism Boom, because it was my first long project and because I really enjoyed it.

What has been your most challenging photographic assignment or project to date?

China’s Lost Children, because it was a delicate subject to photograph in China and it took me a while to get access to the Children’s Village.

Please describe any special photographic projects or assignments in which you are currently engaged.

I am currently working on a commission, “Open Cities”, for the British Council on the subject of immigration in Bilbao, Spain.

What is your greatest photographic aspiration?

To reach as many people with my photography as possible and to make them wonder about what they are seeing.

What is your primary source of news about the photography industry?

Lightstalkers, PDN, BJP and ASMP.

In your opinion, what is the most critical issue affecting photographers today?

In recent years, the photography industry has been affected by new technologies, and people are paying less attention to photography. In order to fight this “image saturated” world, photographers have to find new ways to reach out an audience.

Were you aware of the ASMP before receiving a Merit Membership?

Not really. I had heard of it.

Since receiving your Merit Membership, have you taken advantage of any of the resources, services or discounts that ASMP offers to members?

Not really.

Do you participate in any of the existing ASMP specialty groups or listservs?

Not really, but hope to catch up with the groups.

Do you belong to other photographic associations or online groups?

Fedephoto.com (France).

What do you consider to be the most valuable aspect of your Merit Membership in the ASMP?

Access to resources and services, even though I haven’t taken full advantage of this, and I find the articles in the ASMP Bulletin very interesting.

Is there any particular resource or information that you would like to see ASMP implement as an added service to the members?

Job or assignment section, contests and awards.
